enMatte's "face" moves closer to completion

On a wonderful late August Sunday - the façade of the building nears completion. 5 of 6 openings replaced, rendering complete, repointing 50% there. The boards of the balcony need nailing down and a hand rail putting in place and from this angle the work will be complete! Even with the incredible progress, it would be hiding the amount of work that still needs to be completed before building behind it will match the completeness.

... the work continues to keep the elephants in the wall and finally spring has arrived. Other additions include a new roof for the little barn and a blossoming garden under the oak tree.

There be elephants in that wall!

If we don't display the proof, no one will believe us in the future - their are elephants in the back wall of enMatte - they may only be printed on the new water proof membrane that covers the rebuilt and newly warmer and wind proof wall, but they are in there - in the shadows of the spring sunshine I could have sworn they moved! They may be the subject of future folk law... I counted 18 to start with - but some may escape at the boarders!

And here is a picture of the elephant herder - believed to be trapped within the wall with the elephants and the individual responsible for herding the elephants into the wall in the first place!

Building work Jan 2008

Work continues on the outside of the house with drains, a path and a very posh outside tap. We've had sunny days for clearing the garden and the early morning mist creates a wonderful atmosphere!

Winter Weather

The last of the fog leaving the ground leaves a very strange land scape...
And the freezing fog leaves even more decoration on the landscape than the warmer version...
